No Snow Sports This Winter!

Unfortunately the prospects of Scottish Snow sports running this winter is limited, the mild conditions have left the Scottish resorts with little to no snow on the ground. Cairngorm mountain with snow making facilities has been unable to produce any significant volume and with temperatures in double digits any per-produced snow will now hold for long.

The mild weather in January had the addition of the Foehn effect lifting the ambient temperatures to unseasonable highs with records being broken on a number of days.

Hopefully there is the possibility of a large cold front moving in from the Siberian East which may bring some respite, however this is not fully established and the snow sport participants have their fingers crossed it does improve.
