Low pressure drifting in from the east will bring scattered thundery bursts of rain, developing into increasingly widespread rain, sustained heavy rain setting in for eastern Scotland and Pennines. Cloud filling in across most hills and winds generally strengthening.
Rain heavy at times, risk thunder; wind increasing, feeling cool.
Northerly, gradually strengthening from 15mph after dawn, to 30-35mph evening.
As wind strengthens will increasingly impede ease of walking on higher areas and wind chill will become considerable.
Intermittent rain, risk local thunder.
Bursts of rain, in places frequent, possibly heavy and thundery.
Extensive on higher tops
Cloud base rising through morning; by late morning, fragments here and there on higher slopes but most summits cloud free. In rain will deteriorate, as cloud forms widely above 500m, locally much lower.
60%
Little or no sunshine. Hazy, and visibility deteriorating markedly where raining.
10C, but as wind increases feeling below 5C, by evening 2C.

A slow-moving area of low pressure will leave areas of rain and showers later this week, plus varied banks of low cloud across the mountains, feeling cool. Improving at least temporarily into the weekend as pressure rises for a time, becoming warmer, but southerly winds will strengthen ahead of lowering pressure over the Atlantic, likely to move in by early next week to bring changeable conditions, rain at times, most frequent western Scotland.
